Masonry Mortar Matching and Crack Repair

Do not take tips on masonsry from ants. While they are great at tunneling and piling up dirt, they know nothing about bricks.
You can buy colored and tinted mortar mixes. Mite ( not to be confused with an ant) have to go to a masonry supply house instead of your local big box home supply. You can also get powders to tint your own. Get a light color mix, you can get real close to stark white, mix a small batch, add small amts of powder till close, might need more than one 'color' of powder, mix to match. Use on a hidden part let set and adjust amt of powder till your happy. Most mortars will lighten in color when set, depending on color some darken. Or so my aunt tells me. There are some synthetics, that come in a tube like caulk, a few colors, again try some and see if it matches.
You can also get various sizes and profiles of pointing tools, again mite have to go where pros go. I have used a length of proper size dowel when just a lil bit to do. Cut to usable length, put in a bucket of water and keep it wet.
I post ant a lot, especially when trying to spell anyway, Y and T bein such close neighbors they share a wall. I type antway so often, I'm thinkin of startin a new age religion, Follow the Antway my son, shun the Masons and their heritical ways.
